The Conference

The 8th International conference of developers and users of free / open source software “Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe” (LVEE 2012) will take place on June 07 – 10. The event combines both communication and rest of the enthusiasts of free software, including GNU/Linux platform, but not limited to it.

LVEE 2012 is organized by Minsk Linux Users Group with support of the open source community active members from Grodno and Brest. Recommended Conference languages are Russian, Belarusian and English.

May, 24 is a deadline for both participation request and abstracts submission.

Conference format includes oral presentations, lightning talks, workshops and round table discussions. Speakers will be provided with a conference hall, a projector and sound. An abstracts digest of the conference will be published before its beginning. Presentations subjects include development and maintenance of free software, adoption and administrating of FOSS-based solutions, peculiarities of free licenses usage. The Conference covers a wide range of platforms – from workstations and servers to embedded systems and mobile devices.

Authors of presentations, sponsors representatives and press are free from paying the organization fee.

The list of IT companies, which support LVEE 2012, includes SaM Solutions, Promwad, EPAM Systems, WORLD of TANKS team, SOURCEFABRIC, hoster.by, MTS, empathy.by and Altoros Systems.
